New Retailers Across From The CDC: Emory Point Development
Cousins Properties Inc. has signed the first group of retailers for its new Emory Point development.
Atlanta-based Cousins (NYSE: CUZ) has signed CVS pharmacy, men’s clothier Jos A. Bank, Marlow’s Tavern, Which Wich sandwich shop, Solar Dimensions tanning spa, and Carriage Cleaners to the mixed-use project.
Emory Point is near the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Emory University “From locally owned stores and restaurants to national chains, Emory Point will provide the trade area with a unique mix of upscale retail and restaurant options,” said Larry Gellerstedt, Cousins president and CEO. “Additionally, Emory Point retailers will create approximately 600 jobs for the local community.”
The first phase of the project, which will cost more than $100 million, will include more than 80,000 square feet of retail space and 443 apartments.
Construction began in July and is expected to be complete by fall 2012.
The second and third phases of the project will be developed later.
