Druid Hills Charter Cluster Referendum Passes
The results were 1,036 to 94 in a referendum on the proposed Druid Hills Charter Cluster plan. Having surpassed the 60% threshold required by Georgia state law, the petition for a charter cluster will now be filed with the DeKalb County School District. The DeKalb County Board of Education will review and vote on the petition.
“The neighborhoods of Avondale, Briar Vista, Fernbank, Laurel Ridge, McLendon, and Druid Hills have demonstrated that they can work together, schools can work together, and parents can work together to find a new way forward in public education,” stated Matthew Lewis, who led the initiative.
