DRUID HILLS RESIDENTS!

Come Out to Support the FERNBANK SCHOOL GREEN CAMPUS PROPOSAL*

CHEAPER, FASTER, GREENER

1. Increases playground greenspace to meet county standard of two acres per 900 students.

2. Preserves old growth forested areas.

3. Relocates the building on campus, eliminating unnecessary, costly, time-consuming earthwork & huge, unsafe retaining walls.

The Green Campus Proposal

• Uses the prototype building

• Exceeds or stays within county school construction guidelines

• Costs less money and time to complete

*Formerly “Fernbank Alternative Design.”

• The Fernbank School Council and PTA Meeting:

Every person choosing to engage in this issue will have the opportunity to influence a decision that will have a very significant and lasting impact upon both the Fernbank School and on the surrounding community. If you believe that logic and common sense (Cheaper, Faster, Greener) should prevail over traditional bureaucratic intransigence, then your community needs you to step up and let your presence be felt. Join us at the SPLOST IV meeting tomorrow night, the DHCA meeting on Sunday at the Natural History Museum at 1:30, and most importantly, the meeting at the current school’s location in Avondale on Tuesday, Jan 27th at 7pm. These meetings are posted above on this page. Why sit passively and curse the darkness when you can light a candle and truly make one hell of a difference.

Thanks for this update on this very important issue for our community! Will this be discussed at the DHCA Annual Meeting for all Druid Hills residents on Sunday, Jan 26?
