DHCA’s Nominating Committee Announces 2017 Slate
The DHCA Nominating Committee is pleased to announce its slate for the Class of 2017, as well as nominations for five officers and seats in the classes of 2015 and 2016. The following individuals will have their names placed in nomination at the DHCA Annual Meeting on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at 1:30pm at the Fernbank Museum. Please note that Ken Gibson will remain Secretary and Claudia Keenan will remain Communications Vice President.

About the 2017 Nominees
Robert H. Benfield attended Washington and Lee University and Emory School of Law. A trial attorney for more than 30 years, he has largely represented plaintiffs in catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death civil actions in Georgia’s trial and appellate courts. Rob and his wife, Stephanie Stuckey Benfield, have been Druid Hills residents for over 25 years. Rob previously served on the DHCA Board and one term as DHCA President (1997-1998).
Kit Eisterhold grew up in Tennessee and attended the University of Oregon. A landscape designer with nearly 20 years of experience, he has lived in Atlanta since 1995 and in Druid Hills since 2012 with his wife and young daughter. Kit is a great fan of Frederick Law Olmsted.
Jennifer Garrett grew up in West Virginia and has lived in Druid Hills since 1999 with her husband and two sons. Formerly a nurse at Grady Memorial Hospital and an HIV researcher at Emory, she is presently Director of Recruiting, Human Resources at Emory University.
Chris Liggett grew up in Michigan and holds BS and MS degrees from Michigan State University. A veteran of the U.S. Forest Service, he worked in the West and Pacific Northwest before serving as Director of Planning for the Forest Service / Southern Region. Chris and his wife have lived in Druid Hills since 2003. Having retired in 2014, he is a volunteer with Trees Atlanta and Open Hand.
Tom McGuigan grew up in Marietta, GA. A graduate of Oglethorpe University with a dual major in Accounting & Economics, he is a CPA and the Practice Director for an ERP software implementation company. Tom and his wife, Jenny, have lived in Druid Hills since 2000.
Perry Mitchell was born at Emory Hospital and spent his career in advertising and fundraising as a writer and creative director. He and his wife, Pam Woodley, have owned their Ridgewood Drive home for 45 years. Since retiring nine years ago, Perry has volunteered with several Druid Hills organizations, serving as co-chair, Friends of Burbanck Park and a member of the Emory Village Alliance advisory board. With three neighbors, he maintains the Oxford / Clifton traffic island and is active in protecting Druid Hills from development not approved by the DeKalb County Historic Preservation Commission.
Jim Morawetz – bio forthcoming
Phil Moise was in the private practice of law for nearly 30 years, representing public and private companies in the technology, life sciences, and medical products industries. A longtime board member of the Alliance Theater, he and his wife have hosted the Druid Hills July 4th party on their front lawn for more than two decades.
Stuart Silverman is a Brooklyn native who has lived in Druid Hills for 38 years with his wife Alida. A retired ophthalmologist, Stuart’s interests include classical music, German language and culture, chess, travel, and his twin grandchildren.
