DHCA Resolution on DeKalb Schools Redistricting Plan

At its February 17, 2016 meeting, the Druid Hills Civic Association (DHCA) passed a resolution regarding the DeKalb County School District’s plan for redistricting the Cross Keys Cluster.

RESOLVED, that the Druid Hills Civic Association requests that the DeKalb County School Board table its redistricting proposals concerning Cross Keys Cluster over-crowding so that the communities involved may develop alternate options that will lead to the best long-term solution for all of the involved communities, schools and children.

The DHCA recognizes the seriousness of overcrowding and hopes to work with the district to identify solutions for our children and schools. However, we are concerned about proceeding without thorough planning and sufficient resources. We urge the superintendent and school board members to pursue further diligence.
